Lieke joined Blue Spirit in 2021 from Bol.com (the Dutch retail giant) where she had been a senior SRE on their transactional email and notification platform — the system that pushes order confirmations, shipping updates and customer communications to roughly 12 million Dutch and Belgian consumers daily. Before Bol.com she ran infrastructure at a Rotterdam fintech and started her career as a Linux admin at Erasmus University Medical Center.
At Blue Spirit she owns the platform layer underneath the deliverability stack: AlmaLinux 9 hardened base images, PowerMTA RPM packaging with Ansible-driven config templating, the Prometheus/Grafana observability stack ingesting per-VMTA metrics, the parsedmarc + ElasticSearch DMARC aggregation pipeline, and the Terraform modules that provision new client tenants across the four jurisdiction-aware nodes (NL, BG, MD, LU) in under 90 minutes start-to-finish.
Her observability stack is the data backbone of every quarterly incident-pattern review and is the basis for the public Blue Spirit status page. The volume vs. incidents annual chart on /status is fed by the same Prometheus queries that drive the on-call dashboards. Lieke published the Grafana JSON for a sender reputation aggregation dashboard on the Grafana community site in 2024 — it has roughly 4,200 imports as of 2026.
She has a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) credential and contributes occasionally to the AlmaLinux project. Outside work she runs ultras (last finish: UTMR 130km in 2024), keeps reef tanks, and reads aggressive amounts of Russian literature.
